Statewide Testing - Congratulations to all of our students for completing their CAASPP testing this week. For those students who need more time to finish, make-ups will be going on this week. Mrs. Kent, Academic Coordinator, will be sending passes for students to finish their tests.
8th Grade Incentive Trip - The 8th grade incentive trip to Sunsplash in Roseville is on Tuesday, May 28th. For students to be eligible they must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA when averaging their first semester and 4th quarter progress grades. Students must also have a minimum of 90 merits and no outstanding fees in the library. *Please see page 8 in the student handbook for more detailed information on eligibility. Permission slips went home with students on May 6th. Completed permission slips and a $34 payment (make checks out to Wilson C. Riles Middle School) must be turned into Mrs. Koscheka, Secretary, in the front office by May 22nd. Students may check their eligibility in the front office prior to turning in their permission slip. Students may also check their eligibility with their homeroom teacher.
*7th grade students will be participating in a “Fun Day” on the same day while the 8th graders are at Sunsplash. Eligibility requirements are the same as for the 8th grade trip.
Movin’ Up Party - The last dance/event of the year is our Movin’ Up Party hosted by our W.E.B class. The party will take place Friday, May 17th from 5PM to 7PM in the multipurpose room. Students may pick up a ticket during lunch next week. The Movin’ Up Party is open to all students who have 90 or more merits and no outstanding library fees. And it is free!
8th Grade Celebration - The 8th Grade Celebration Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 30th at 8:45AM in the WCR quad. This is a minimum day for all students. Students will come to school at the regular time. All students participating in the ceremony will receive 4 tickets on Wednesday, May 29th. Ticketed guests will be allowed entry at 8:30AM, with non-ticketed guests to follow. The ceremony will last approximately one hour. Parents may sign their children out after the ceremony for the remainder of the school day. Parking will be limited, so please make every effort to carpool.
Families of students who do not meet the Celebration requirements will be notified on Friday, May 24th, after 2nd semester grades have been posted. Please see page 8 in the student handbook for more information on eligibility.
